2022-2023<\/strong><\/p><p>In 2022 and 2023, Multilingual Lab is organizing a series of five online roundtables: 1) Privilege, 2) Minority\/Minorisation, 3) Gender\/Sexuality, 4) Universals, and 5) Imperialism.<\/p><p>Contributions will specifically address the terms that have historically been, and are currently associated with, the notion centered in each event. In each presentation, emphasis will be put on the manners in which linguistic and intellectual traditions, shaped by historical contexts, reflect plural and situated understandings. Participants are invited to forefront specific words \u2013 key concepts, metaphors, or other stylistic devices \u2013 and provide a commentary on those words.<\/p><p>The proposed roundtables are experimental in nature. They aim to explore avenues by which a multilingual dictionary can lean into linguistic plurality rather than circumvent it by the simple juxtaposition of contributions in different languages or flatten it by a process of translation. This means that although we have tried to provide general orientations for the content of the presentations, participants should expect a degree of experimentation in terms of format.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ANTHROPEN<\/strong><\/p><p><em>Anthropen <\/em>is a French-language platform where international specialists, professors, researchers, doctoral and post-doctoral students from different intellectual and theoretical backgrounds are invited to write entries based on critical feedback and reviews provided upstream, followed by an evaluation in accordance with scholarly standards.<\/p><p>The aim of the <em>Anthropen<\/em>online dictionary\u00a0project is to report on the transformations that anthropology has undergone in recent decades in conjunction with a questioning of its theoretical formulations, fields of research and methodological choices. Its ambition is to provide anthropology researchers, teachers, students and other interested individuals with an open access tool for capturing new configurations of the discipline in a way that reflects their full scope, timeliness and diversity.<\/p><p>The\u00a0<em>Anthropen<\/em>\u00a0dictionary is rooted in the discipline of anthropology but is also open to the cultural sciences. It is furthermore in dialogue with the various anthropologies being developed in different languages and from diverse scientific and cultural intellectual backgrounds.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>World Council of Anthropological Associations (WCAA)<\/strong><\/p><p>The <em>World Council of Anthropological Associations<\/em>, formed in 2004, is an association of associations from around the world. Each association member is represented by a delegate: a president or representative. As of this writing in 2021 there are 54 member associations, representing tens of thousands of anthropologists. The WCAA has meetings every two years, attended by its representatives and delegates, generally taking place at meetings of World Anthropology Congress. The WCAA also meets at other large meetings of anthropologists around the world several times a year. The WCAA has a Chair and an Organizing Committee, elected every two years from representatives around the world, who discuss the WCAA\u2019s activities at monthly meetings and decide on policy matters of a more urgent sort than can be discussed at the WCAA semi-annual meetings.<\/p><p>The WCAA emerged from conversations about world anthropologies, with the aim of promoting a more diverse exchange among anthropologists globally. There have always been very close connections between world-systems of power and disciplines such as anthropology. There has been an Americentrism and Eurocentrism in the discipline, whereby certain anthropologies are imposed as central and others are seen as alternative or peripheral. The WCAA seeks to raise awareness of this situation, and to promote and champion anthropologies around the world as engaged in a truly global endeavor.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>MULTILAB<\/strong><\/p><p>The Anthropen\/ WCAA Multilingual Lab seeks to contribute to key contemporary debates in anthropology by bringing attention both to emerging concepts and to stimulating re-readings of classical notions within the broad field of the sciences of culture.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-7222\" aria-expanded=\"false\">French<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-7222\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-7222\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Anthropen\/ WCAA <\/strong><strong>Laboratoire Multilingue &#8211; S\u00c9MINAIRES 2022-2023<\/strong><\/p><p>En 2022 et 2023, le Laboratoire multilingue organise une s\u00e9rie de cinq tables rondes en ligne : 1) Privil\u00e8ge, 2) Minorit\u00e9\/Minorisation, 3) Genre\/Sexualit\u00e9, 4) Universaux, et 5) Imp\u00e9rialisme.<\/p><p>Les contributions porteront sp\u00e9cifiquement sur les termes qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 historiquement, et sont actuellement, associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la notion centr\u00e9e dans chaque \u00e9v\u00e9nement. Dans chaque pr\u00e9sentation, l&#8217;accent sera mis sur la mani\u00e8re dont les traditions linguistiques et intellectuelles, fa\u00e7onn\u00e9es par les contextes historiques, refl\u00e8tent des compr\u00e9hensions plurielles et situ\u00e9es. Les participants sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 mettre en avant des mots sp\u00e9cifiques &#8211; qu&#8217;il s&#8217;agisse de concepts cl\u00e9s, de m\u00e9taphores ou d&#8217;autres proc\u00e9d\u00e9s stylistiques &#8211; et \u00e0 les commenter.<\/p><p>Les tables rondes propos\u00e9es sont de nature exp\u00e9rimentale. Elles visent \u00e0 explorer les voies par lesquelles un dictionnaire multilingue peut s&#8217;appuyer sur la pluralit\u00e9 linguistique plut\u00f4t que de la contourner par la simple juxtaposition de contributions en diff\u00e9rentes langues ou de l&#8217;aplatir par un processus de traduction. Cela signifie que, bien que nous ayons essay\u00e9 de fournir des orientations g\u00e9n\u00e9rales pour le contenu des pr\u00e9sentations, les participants doivent s&#8217;attendre \u00e0 un certain degr\u00e9 d&#8217;exp\u00e9rimentation en termes de format.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>ANTHROPEN<\/strong><\/p><p><em>Anthropen<\/em>\u00a0est une plateforme, en langue fran\u00e7aise, o\u00f9 des sp\u00e9cialistes internationaux, des professeurs, chercheurs, \u00e9tudiants de doctorat et post doctorant provenant de diff\u00e9rents horizons intellectuels et th\u00e9oriques, sont invit\u00e9s \u00e0 r\u00e9diger des entr\u00e9es \u00e9labor\u00e9es \u00e0 partir de commentaires et de relectures critiques effectu\u00e9es en amont puis \u00e9valu\u00e9es selon les standards scientifiques.<\/p><p>Le projet du dictionnaire en ligne\u00a0<em>Anthropen<\/em>\u00a0veut rendre compte des transformations que l\u2019anthropologie a connues ces derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies autour des questionnements portant aussi bien sur ses formulations th\u00e9oriques, ses terrains de recherche que ses choix m\u00e9thodologiques. Son ambition est de fournir aux chercheurs, aux enseignants et aux \u00e9tudiants en anthropologie et plus largement un outil en libre acc\u00e8s permettant de saisir les nouvelles configurations de la discipline dans toute leur \u00e9tendue, actualit\u00e9 et diversit\u00e9.<\/p><p>Le dictionnaire <em>Anthropen<\/em> est ancr\u00e9 dans la discipline anthropologique tout en \u00e9tant ouvert sur les sciences de la culture. Il est aussi en dialogue avec les diverses anthropologies en \u00e9laboration dans diff\u00e9rentes langues et depuis des horizons intellectuels scientifiques et culturels diversifi\u00e9s.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>World Council of Anthropological Associations (WCAA)<\/strong><\/p><p>Le <em>Conseil Mondial des Associations Anthropologiques<\/em>, form\u00e9 en 2004, est une association d&#8217;associations du monde entier. Chaque membre de l&#8217;association est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 par un d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9 : un pr\u00e9sident ou un repr\u00e9sentant. Au moment d&#8217;\u00e9crire ces lignes en 2021, il y a 54 associations membres, repr\u00e9sentant des dizaines de milliers d&#8217;anthropologues. La WCAA se r\u00e9unit tous les deux ans, en pr\u00e9sence de ses repr\u00e9sentants et d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9s, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement lors des r\u00e9unions du Congr\u00e8s mondial d&#8217;anthropologie. La WCAA se r\u00e9unit \u00e9galement lors d&#8217;autres grandes r\u00e9unions d&#8217;anthropologues \u00e0 travers le monde plusieurs fois par an. La WCAA a un pr\u00e9sident et un comit\u00e9 d&#8217;organisation, \u00e9lus tous les deux ans parmi des repr\u00e9sentants du monde entier, qui discutent des activit\u00e9s de la WCAA lors de r\u00e9unions mensuelles et d\u00e9cident des questions politiques plus urgentes que celles qui peuvent \u00eatre discut\u00e9es lors des r\u00e9unions semestrielles de la WCAA.<\/p><p>La WCAA est n\u00e9e de conversations sur les anthropologies mondiales, dans le but de promouvoir un \u00e9change plus diversifi\u00e9 entre anthropologues \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9chelle mondiale. Il y a toujours eu des liens tr\u00e8s \u00e9troits entre les syst\u00e8mes mondiaux de pouvoir et des disciplines telles que l&#8217;anthropologie. Il y a eu un am\u00e9ricentrisme et un eurocentrisme dans la discipline, o\u00f9 certaines anthropologies sont impos\u00e9es comme centrales et d&#8217;autres comme alternatives ou p\u00e9riph\u00e9riques.
